Since the content is only basic geometry, I thought this set would just be an introductory steppingstone into more sophisticated KNEX sets (e.g., Simple Machines). But even after my 5-year-old raced through all the geometry exercises, she still plays constantly with this set, making all sorts of original shapes, which has extended her sense of geometry. It also gives her lots of fine motor exercise. She even has incorporated her creations with her other toys like blocks and Polly Pockets. There is much more creative potential in this set than I expected, so it has served as an excellent intro to KNEX. I’m looking forward to what my daughter does with the Simple Machines kits.
Also, unlike other similar science kits I have purchased, the KNEX design is extremely durable. The plastic holds up well under lots of unkind twisting and pulling, and it is just as good as it was on the first day.
