I just found out through a transvaginal ultra sound that I am 6 weeks and 2 days pregnant?
But they did not detect a heart beat. Is this normal? I am freaking out and I am very upset. Anyone else in this boat?

Why would they have told you that? A heartbeat cannot be detected that early first off. Most reputable Drs. won’t check for one until ATLEAST after 8 weeks, usually 10 weeks. Take your pre-natals, get lots of rest & drink lots of water =)

6 weeks could be too early.. wait about 2 more weeks.. (mom of five)

It might just be a little early. I had mine done at 8 weeks 4 days and could see the heart beat (flashing) and hear it. I’m not sure about 6 weeks and 2 days. But if the Dr. didn’t seem worried, then I’m sure everything is fine.

Usually you start to hear the heart beat at 10 wks or so.
Wait a couple weeks.
EDIT: She should of never told you so she would not worry you.
Its to early, you have nothing to worry about, just take you pills, water, and rest up!

If the doc thought the babys heart was not beating he or she would have told you. If I recall right it may be a little soon to see it on the ultrasound. You can also call your docs office and express your concern, and I am sure they will let you know what is up.

It will beat soon! This is about the time that it kicks in. At your next visit you will get to hear it and it will be amazing! Congratulations!

You’re baby is so tiny at this stage it could be too early to detect it. If they thought something was wrong they would have told you. Why didn’t you ask them while you were there? Wouldn’t you trust their answer to that question better than random people off of the internet?

they usually can’t hear a heart beat till 8 weeks. or don’t try till then, cause there are alot of dr who believe that the ultrasound waves can do damage to the tissues before 8 weeks. so don’t freak out just know that it is normal.

I had that happen with my daughter. I had to wait a week before they would do another ultrasound. It was the longest week of my life. Luckily when I went back there it was, beating away. She is a wild 3 month old now. Good Luck and try not to worry ( easier said than done, I know).

I don’t even think you can detect a heart beat that early. They should not of told you that. Did they tell you that they thought you were miscarrying? I would google some info on when you can detect a heartbeat.

6 weeks is still too early to detect a heartbeat. Don’t freak out… At your next ultrasound they can find it, or at your next doctor visit he may be able to find it then with the doppler.

it is to early to detect a heart beat, freaking out wont help. your baby is not even developed yet so how do you expect to here a heart beat. wait till your 9 weeks then it should have a strong heart beat.
